Fluids & Thermodynamics

CoolProp in-process, organization mixtures and thermodynamic diagrams

PNeX embeds CoolProp as an in-process library (vendored C++ compiled with the Rust workspace) instead of calling an external service.

Fluid mixtures

Automation › Fluid Mixtures manages the organization's custom mixtures (New mixture: name, components, Mole or Mass fractions — mass fractions are converted to molar ones on save). A mixture is then usable everywhere: in the CoolProp node and in the diagrams.

In flows

The CoolProp node computes the thermophysical properties of a fluid or mixture from two properties read in the payload (PropsSI-style syntax, units of your choice). Port 0 = every output in one object, then one port per output, and an optional phase port.

Diagrams

The Thermo diagram widget of a PC dashboard draws, per its Diagram type: log(p)-h (enthalpy), T-s (entropy) or Psychrometric (humid air). Pick the Fluid / mixture (CoolProp fluids or organization mixtures; humid air needs none), then the Cycle points — two live sources per point (for example suction pressure and temperature) — to follow the cycle live. Rendered as SVG polylines in the app.
