Cookies
This site sets no analytics, advertising or social-media cookies. The only question you are asked is about session recording, described below.
- Cloudflare may set technical security cookies (for example __cf_bm, bot protection), strictly necessary for the service to work and therefore exempt from consent.
- Browser local storage (localStorage) only remembers your preferences: light/dark theme, dismissal of the beta banner and your audience-measurement choices (kept at most 6 months for session recording). This data never leaves your browser.
Audience measurement
We use Umami, an open-source analytics tool, on an instance self-hosted by the publisher on their own servers in France (umami.pnex.io). No data is shared with third parties or used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Visit statistics
Cookieless. Collected: the page viewed, referrer, browser, OS and device type, language and country (derived from the IP address, which is not stored). Visits are grouped by an identifier computed with a one-way hash that is rotated periodically: it cannot identify you.
Session recording and heatmaps
Only if you agreed: about 15% of your visits, picked at random, are recorded for at most 5 minutes to understand how the documentation is used and improve the site’s usability. A recording captures the page structure, scrolling, clicks and mouse movements. About 15% of visits also feed heatmaps, which aggregate click positions and scroll depth. Input fields are masked before sending: what you type is not recorded.
Legal basis and retention
Visit statistics are based on the publisher’s legitimate interest in measuring the site’s audience (GDPR article 6(1)(f)); they are exempt from consent but you can object at any time. Session recording and heatmaps are based on your consent (GDPR article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. Statistics are kept for at most 25 months, session recordings for at most 90 days.
Manage your choices
These settings apply to this browser. Turning statistics off also stops session recording. Content blockers have the same effect.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object. As the data collected is anonymous, it generally cannot be linked back to you. For any question, contact the publisher [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (service in French).
