Annotations

Mini-dashboards anchored on photos, floor plans, panoramas, splats and 360 tours

An annotation places live data on a media item: a pin value, a device status, a switch, a sparkline — right where the equipment appears on the photo, floor plan, panorama, splat or 360 tour. The annotations of a media item form a set, versioned and published independently from the media and from the tour.

Where they are edited

Media › Annotations is the only place to edit them, for every support: image, floor plan, 360 panorama, 3D splat and 360 tour (the anchor follows the tour scene). Studio, the map and dashboards only display them, and the library always shows the raw media.

New annotation set: a name ("Machine room — ground floor") and a support, media item or 360 tour. The list shows each set, its support (Associated with) and its Status (draft or published), with a Media filter.

Placing items

Turn on Place, then click the media (on a splat: on the object). The Inspector sets the item's Target type:

TypeShows
DeviceA device and its connected / offline state
PinThe live value of a pin
StatusA device status
ReadingA measurement (telemetry or memory) as a mini chart
ControlA switch, slider, button… that becomes a control when saved
NoteFree text

Each item has a Label and a Color. A Reading picks its Mini chart: Value, Sparkline, Gauge (with Minimum / Maximum) or Indicator; a memory value has no history, so it has no sparkline. A Control item receives its own source on first save, ready to be ticked in a Control source node: as on a dashboard, an annotation never drives a device itself.

Mini-dashboards

Control and Reading items are shown as cards anchored next to their marker, with the same bodies as dashboard widgets. The viewer offers three modes: Hide, Dots (markers only, detail on click) and Cards (the default when the media carries controls or readings).

Versions and publishing

Save creates a version (optimistic concurrency: a conflict offers Reload or Overwrite). Only the published version shows on the map, in Studio tours and in dashboards: the bar at the top of the panel shows the status (published v3, Nothing published), Publish publishes the latest saved version, Unpublish withdraws it. Preview shows the published view as the map and tours see it. History lists the versions: Load one or Publish an earlier one (history is kept).

The annotations of a standalone panorama and those of the same panorama inside a tour stay separate: each context only shows its own sets.
